Description:
The quay is an irresistible visual composition of what Penang was and is--a seaport and a waterfront stretch of turn-of-the-century shipping offices with their huge godowns at the rear. Relics of the past are found here like the Malayan Railway Building and the tastefully refurbished premises of The British Council. Several cobbled alleyways link the Quay to the thoroughfare of Lebuh Pantai and are an intuitive introduction to the goods transportation system of the harbour.
