Description:
The Penang Town Hall, was first opened to the public in 1880. It was probably the most important structure when it was established as this was the meeting place of different officials during the colonial era.
The Town Hall, like the City Hall, has a balcony that overlooks the Padang. In olden days, the elite used to gather on the balconies of the Municipal Council buildings to view the processions and games held below.
